Different Together Festival 2026

carries fest

Different Together Fest '26 is taking over the museum AND theatre for one powerful community day of creativity, regulation and fun.

Created by Wired Differently Sensory Seekers CIC, this is an event designed around freedom, flexibility and feeling welcome. Come for a little while or stay all day. Join in loudly, quietly or somewhere in between. Everybody is welcome, exactly as they are.

From the moment you arrive, both venues are alive with experiences you can move through at your own pace. The theatre transforms into a place to regulate and reset with Zen Rooms hosting a calming sound bath and we have relaxed Q&A sessions for anyone seeking guidance or reassurance around education settings. Throughout the day, rhythm and movement take centre stage as Beatfeet brings an energising drumming performance as well as a hands-on workshops in the museum where you can get involved and feel the beat for yourself. Alex Ross will be hosting a seminar focused on empowerment, with even more experiences still to be announced.

Creative energy flows through the museum with immersive activity spaces, including a glowing neon room where you’ll create your own planet stickers and badges, alongside a range of workshops designed to spark curiosity and expression one of which is an incredible BSL session led by Listen in Silence, opening up new ways to communicate, connect and learn. Clear schedules, clear signage, perching stools for resting and lift access to the upper floor ensure the environment works with you as you explore.

The activites run from 12–4, before winding down together with a relaxed film screening in the theatre from 4 (included in your ticket). The bar and café will be open throughout, with Andwhynot delivering freshly made stone-baked pizzas straight from next door to your table in the theatre bar.

When you need a quieter moment, the Storm Room offers gentle lighting, calming storm soundtracks and rain-noise instruments to explore at your own pace. As you move through the spaces, you’ll also find the Wired Differently Sensory Seekers CIC fidget stall open with a wide range of sensory products, alongside Argyle’s sweet stall with theatre treats, thoughtfully packaged to keep rustling and sensory overload to a minimum.

Your ticket will be exchanged for a wristband, giving you the freedom to step outside and return whenever you need. There’s also a lounge space hosting scheduled ASMR screenings, and every activity is designed so you can walk in, walk out or stay as long as feels right.

Different Together Fest is neurodivergent-friendly but not neurodivergent-exclusive. It’s a day that shows what’s possible when spaces are designed with care, understanding and choice at the centre. Every penny from ticket sales will go in to this event ensuring you won't be charged per activity or film.
