Wading and Wandering

wading spoonbill

Wading and Wandering is a playful, interactive performance for under-fives, following a family of spoonbills as they wander along the tideline

Made from litter pickers, spoons and plastic bottles, the birds forage, wade and explore a changing world of found objects and washed-up treasures.  Through puppetry, movement, making and song, the show invites young audiences to notice how rubbish travels through water, and to meet some of the weird and wonderful birds that inhabit our coastlines. Along the way, the performance explores how care, curiosity and small actions can make a difference.
Co-created and performed by artists Michelle Reader and Miriam Keye, with story-building support from writer Leanne Moden.

Running time including freeflow exploring/making at the end is about an hour
