The route

Thursday 8 September

One of the biggest watched free events, the Tour of Britain stage five will set off from West Bridgford on Thursday morning around 10am and enter Mansfield district from the B6034 from Edwinstowe at around 2.30pm and whizz around the district going through Warsop, Woodhouse and Forest Town before heading to Mansfield town centre.

There’ll be 114 riders from 19 teams whizzing through Mansfield District including local riders Ross Lamb from Mansfield and Ollie Peckover from Ruddington who both cycle for the Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycle team.

There are some amazing places to watch the race safely including the expanse of grassland along the A60 Mansfield Woodhouse and Old Mill Lane and along the wide pavements in Forest Town along Sherwood Hall Road. Chesterfield Road will provide a jaw dropping finish once more and visitors are encouraged the line the area and join us for the festival in the park before the peloton reaches Mansfield at around 3.25pm.

School children are in for a treat with many schools having the race come past their gates Asquith Primary and Samworth Academy will see the race at their doorstep as will Sherwood Junior School in Warsop.
