Drivers who break parking regulations (either on the public highway or in one of our public car parks) will be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
Mansfield District Council forms part of the Notts Parking Partnership. Civil Enforcement Officers patrol throughout the district and cover on and off-street parking where there is an enforceable Traffic Regulation Order (TRO), including:
- car parks
- residential areas
- disabled bays
- permit-only areas
- all single and double yellow lines
- school markings, and
- bus lane and bus stop enforcement.
Parking fines and how to pay them
Parking fines, known as a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN), are issued when a driver parks a vehicle in breach of the regulations.
If you have received a PCN, please refer to the information on the reverse of the ticket for ways to pay or appeal. Alternatively you can find further information on Nottinghamshire County Council's website (opens in a new window), who deal with all parking fines and appeals.
Different legislation is used to issue a parking fine in private car parks. If you are issued in a private park you should deal directly with the company who issued the fine, such as Parking Eye at St Peters Retail Park. We have no power in these matters.
On-street parking
Nottinghamshire County Council is responsible for the control and regulation of all on-street parking issues, such as double yellow lines, no waiting restrictions etc. Any complaints/concerns regarding on-street parking should be directed to Nottinghamshire County Council (opens in a new window).
Areas that are not enforced by Civil Enforcement Officers, unless other restrictions exist, include:
- parking on dropped kerbs
- parking on pavements
- double parked vehicles
- parking at a junction
- moving traffic offences.
Obstruction and moving traffic offences may be dealt with by the Police.
