Services affected by heatwave

The East Midlands has been issued with a red weather warning by the Met Office for high temperatures from Monday 18 to Wednesday 20 July.

Temperatures are expected to soar in excess of 37 degrees on Tuesday 19 July. In an effort to protect our colleagues from heat exhaustion, some of our services are being altered:

Housing repairs

Our Vale Road depot will close at 3pm on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 July.

We are still undertaking the majority of pre-arranged housing repairs appointments although some works have been cancelled due to the nature of the works, such as working in loft spaces or in direct sunlight. Affected customers are being contacted and alternative arrangements will be made.

Bin collections

Bin collections will take place as normal but we ask that residents ensure their bin is out by 6am prompt so collections can begin as soon as possible. You can check your collection dates on our bin days look up calendar.

The weather is likely to cause some disruption so please bear with us. Our staff are working incredibly hard in difficult conditions to make sure we run a full service and collect as many bins as possible.

If you haven’t already, you can receive free email or text notifications about your bin collection but signing up for free bin alerts.

We will update this webpage with any further changes to service.
