The Local Government Transparency Code 2015 (opens in new window) sets out the key principles and requirements for local authorities for creating greater transparency through the publication of appropriate data that they hold.
Expenditure over £500
Local authorities must publish, at least quarterly, details of each individual item of expenditure over £500.

Government procurement card transactions
Local authorities must publish at least quarterly details of every transaction on a Government Procurement Card.
Procurement
Local authorities must publish at least quarterly the following:
- Details of every invitation to tender for contracts to provide goods and/or services with a value over £5,000
- Details of any contract, commissioned activity, purchase order, framework agreement and any other legally enforceable agreement with a value over £5,000.
Local authority land
Local authorities must publish, at least annually, details of all their relevant land and building assets.

Organisation chart
Local authorities must publish, at least annually, an organisation chart covering staff in the top three levels of the organisation, where they earn over £50,000 per annum.

Senior salaries
Local authorities must publish, at least annually, details of employees who earn over £50,000 per annum. See our Pay Policy Statement.
Constitution

Fraud
Local authorities must publish, at least annually, information about their counter fraud work.

Social Housing Data
The Local Government Transparency Code 2015 (opens in new window) requires local authorities to publish details of the value of social housing stock that is held in their Housing Revenue Account.
The following social housing stock data must be published:
- Valuation data to be listed at postal sector level, without identifying individual dwelling values.
- Valuation data for the dwellings using both Existing Use Value for Social Housing and market value as at 1 April.
