We have been working with colleagues across the local health and care system to identify a suitable location for a COVID-19 vaccination centre in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
The Mansfield NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Centre, also known as the former Wickes retail store, can be found off Chesterfield Road, Mansfield, NG19 7BH.
There will be other locations across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and Bassetlaw which will also be used for vaccinations.
What happens next?
People will be invited for vaccination in priority order, based on the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) guidance. Find out if you are currently eligible for the vaccine on the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG website (opens in new window).
When it is your turn, you can make an appointment at a Vaccination Centre by calling the NHS 119 service or by booking on the NHS website (opens in new window). Receiving a letter inviting you for a COVID-19 vaccine
If you receive a letter inviting you for a COVID-19 vaccine, please make sure you book your appointment as quickly as possible. Vaccines do not have a long shelf life so it is important this process happens swiftly.
You will be required to have two jabs, at least three weeks apart. If you are feeling unwell then please do not attend for vaccination and make an alternative appointment when you have fully recovered. You can find out more about the vaccine on the NHS website (opens in new window).
Accessing the vaccination centre
Parking is available at the Mansfield District Council Civic Centre car park, where you will be greeted by a member of staff.
Anybody who is able to walk, can park at the Civic Centre and follow signs along the path between the cricket pitch and children's play area to the vaccination centre. Temporary traffic lights and a crossing will be in place to help people cross Chesterfield Road South.
If you are unable to walk to the vaccination centre, you may be asked to wait in your car at the Civic Centre before being directed to drive over to the vaccination centre car park as parking spaces become available.
What happens after your vaccination?
After your vaccination, it’s really important you continue to follow the guidelines in place to protect your family and friends. This means you are asked to continue to practice social distancing, wear a face mask and washing your hands frequently. Follow the latest guidance at on the GOV.uk website (opens in new window).
