COVID-19 Local Testing Site

From 13 November 2020 the car park at the Civic Centre will be used as a walk-through Local Testing Site (LTS) for COVID-19.

The site has been confirmed and work will start from 12 November off in the car park of the Civic Centre off Chesterfield Road South. On the site you can expect to see weatherproof tents where COVID-19 tests will be held.

This Local Testing Site will enable people with symptoms of COVID-19 to access a test. The tests will tell you if you have COVID-19. It is not an antibody test to identify if you have had or are immune to the virus.

Anyone requiring a test must have symptoms of coronavirus which are any of:

  • a new, continuous cough
  • a high temperature
  • loss or change to sense of smell or taste.

Visiting the Local Testing Site

You must book a test prior to arrival at the site by calling 119 or visiting the Government website (opens in new window).

This site is a walk-through facility and you cannot access the site by vehicle. If driving to the site, you must find your own parking nearby and then walk to the site. You must not take public transport to get to the site or return home. You must not visit any shops or other premises prior to your test and should return home immediately afterwards.

To ensure the site is COVID-secure you must wear a face covering and adhere to social distancing. You will not be admitted to site without a face covering. You must take a form of identification with you.

Only those having a test should attend the test site. If you are unable to leave family members at home, they may accompany you on site, but must also be wearing a face covering.

You will receive your test result by text or email within 72 hours and will be told what to do next.

The LTS will be open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm and it is anticipated that it will be operational for three months or more.

We will work with our partners to ensure that the site is managed and that appropriate signage is in place to direct visitors to the site. However, we advise local residents and businesses that traffic in the area may be affected and that public parking at the Civic Centre will be interrupted and maybe unavailable whilst the site is being used as a LTS.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate the ongoing support of our local community to help #KeepMansfieldSafe.

If you experience any issues regarding the site please contact us on 01623 463463 or email mdc@mansfield.gov.uk. For out of hours emergencies call 01623 463050.
