I can help cards

‘I can help’ contact cards are being issued by District Councillors to people in their wards. If you want to help someone in your area please download the I can help card (opens in new window), print it out and post it through the doors in your area.

COVID Mutual Aid

COVID Mutual Aid is a national co-ordination group of volunteers who are providing mutual aid. You can sign up to help on the COVID Mutual Aid website (opens in new window).

Food banks

Some Mansfield food banks are offering collections only at this time – the most up to date list is available on the Mansfield Street Support website (opens in new window). Donations to food banks is decreasing due to the current food purchasing levels. If you can help and donate, please continue to do so.

There is a local food share scheme in place for fresh and dried products. They rely on personal donations and volunteers are still dropping off parcels, shopping and being neighbourly. To help combat the limitations on food supplies locally, restaurants, bars and cafes are encouraged to prepare take away meals and frozen meals that can the purchased by the public and stored. If you are doing this please post your initiatives to our Facebook page (opens in new window) so we can share your messages.

Local food businesses are encouraged to support food banks if they have surplus – please do this via the Mansfield CVS (opens in new window) who can put you in touch with the voluntary groups who need your help the most.

Citizens Advice Bureau

Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) have suspended face to face contact but you can still contact them by calling 07930 199843 Monday to Thursday (limited hours) or emailing advice@mansfieldcab.org.uk or debt@mansfield.org.uk. Visit the CAB website for more information (opens in new window).

To talk to someone about new Universal Credit claims, please call 0800 448444, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.

Mansfield Community Befriending Line

If you’re feeling a bit low or lonely and would just like somebody to talk to, the Mansfield Community Befriending Line has been launched by Mansfield CVS (opens in new window).

Someone is there to talk to you Monday to Friday from 12noon to 8pm and at weekends from 4pm to 8pm. Call 01623 392444.

The Grief Line

Lost a loved one and in need of support? Call the Grief Line which supports those who have been bereaved and are in need of emotional support or practical help (food deliveries, medication collection etc.)
