Tidy Together is part of our commitment to build community pride and help make the Mansfield district a place where people are proud to live and work.
Free bulky waste collections
Weekdays from Monday 17 February and Monday 24 February.
We can collect a maximum of three items. There are a limited number of slots available which are offered on a first-come-first-served basis. You can book your slot from Monday 10 February by calling 01623 463463.
Please note, size limits apply and we cannot collect hazardous waste such as paint, rubble, tyres, asbestos, gas bottles or American-stye fridge freezers.
Anyone who breaks the rules of the bulky item collection by leaving extra items out on the pavement risks prosecution for fly tipping. Unlike last year during Tidy Together, we will not be collecting extra side waste with general waste collection. This is because there was only limited take-up of this option last year and free side waste was taken after Christmas instead when people traditionally have extra waste.
Discounted electrical goods collections
We are also offering discounted collections for electrical goods, such as fridges, freezers and microwaves, reduced from £16 to just £5. These collections must also be booked in advance. Please note, we cannot collect American-style fridge freezers.
Residents are also being encouraged to "upcycle" as part of Tidy Together by selling or donating furniture that is in good condition to charity. The British Heart Foundation (opens in new window) and The Furniture Project (opens in new window) are among those that offer free collections for such items.
People buying new electrical goods are being asked to consider using a take back scheme where their old appliance is collected as the new one is delivered.
