Welcome to the homepage for the Planning Policy section
We deal with all planning policy matters likely to affect the district, which includes issues such as housing, employment, retailing, transport, recreation and the environment.
The section is responsible for producing the Local Development Framework (LDF), which will bring all these issues together and guide where and what kind of development will take place locally in the next 20 years or so. When it's finished, the LDF will replace the Local Plan, which is the development plan for the district now.
