Come dressed to win

With less than two weeks until the Olympic Torch comes to Mansfield, people are being encouraged to dress in Olympic colours when they come to line the route on 28 June.

Mansfield Business Improvement District (BID) will be handing out spot prizes to those in the town centre dressed in blue, yellow, black, green and red. The competition has been supported by Mansfield District Council.

Sue Rogers BID coordinator, Cllr Kate Allsop Portfolio Holder for Economic Regeneration at Mansfield District Council and Sarah Nelson BID Manager

Prizes include various gift vouchers to be used in Mansfield Town and I Love Mansfield goodie bags.

The Olympic Torch comes to the Mansfield District on day 41 of its tour around the country in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Sarah Nelson, BID Manager said: "The torch coming through is such a once in a lifetime event, and with fun street entertainment already taking place on the day we thought what better way to have fun and celebrate the torch passing through than by showing your support and dressing in the Olympic ring colours. We also want to support our businesses by bringing people into the town throughout the whole day."
