Mansfield is set to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee with a host of events and beacon bonfires on Monday 4 June.
Community groups, organisations and the parish council are preparing the bunting and building their bonfires ready to mark the Queen's 60 year reign.
The District will have four beacons or bonfires which will be lit as part of a network of more than 4,000 beacons across the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, along with the Commonwealth and UK Overseas Territories. The beacons will be lit between 10pm and 10.30pm to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee. All bonfires will be entered into a commemorative book which will be presented to the Queen and a photograph will be taken from space and a series of special aircraft around the country to show the bonfires and beacons in full flame.
