Regional Growth Fund business briefing
Businesses interested in accessing government funding are being urged to attend a local briefing session in Mansfield on Wednesday 23 May and fill in an online survey. Companies looking for £1 million and above can apply to the Regional Growth Fund (RGF) to help create local jobs.
The Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Local Enterprise Partnership, D2N2, is eager for local companies to get involved and also hear views on an idea to open up applications to companies requiring less than £1m.
The Regional Growth Fund is worth £2.4 billion in England over four years from 2011-12 to 2014-15. The fund's intention is to promote private sector development in those areas most at risk to public sector cuts. Businesses can apply for grants and loans from 2011 to 2015.
The RGF supports private sector investment creating economic growth and sustainable employment, particularly in areas and communities currently dependent on the public sector, in order to help them successfully make the step-change to sustainable private sector-led growth and prosperity.
A business briefing, open to all local companies, will be held at the Mansfield i-centre from 8am to 10am on Wednesday 23 May. Those interested in attending this free information briefing are asked to register at: www.dncc.co.uk/events/2131/regional-growth-fund-business-briefing.
Additionally in order to maximise the opportunity for local companies to benefit from this fund, D2N2 is also seeking views through an online questionnaire via the D2N2 website: www.d2n2lep.org/investment-for-growth.aspx or directly at: www.surveymonkey.com/s/D2N2invfund by 22 May.
