A spinathon and Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile at two of Mansfield District Council's leisure centres are expected to have raised almost £2,000 for charity.

More than 150 people took part in a hero themed race in support of Sport Relief at Oak Tree Leisure Centre on Saturday 25 March - raising almost £1,000 for the charity.

Runners were given the option of a one, three or six mile course and it was open people of all ages with many families attending. To kick off the event, Razzamatazz Theatre School warmed up the crowd with their unique rendition of Queen's 'Don't stop me now'.

At River Maun Recreation Centre, 30 people took part in a spinathon, most in fancy dress, which lasted three hours - raising an expected £1,000.
