Leisure centres go the extra mile for charity
Two Mansfield District Council Leisure Centres are holding events to raise money for Sport Relief.
River Maun Recreation Centre is holding a charity spinathon on Saturday 24 March. The spinathon will be taking place from 11am-2pm but people are welcome to cycle for as long or as little as they like. It is advisable to book a time slot with the leisure centre as bikes are limited.
People are welcome to raise their own sponsorship for the event, which costs £2 to enter or £3 without sponsorship. Sponsorship forms are available from reception at River Maun Recreation Centre.
Oak Tree Leisure Centre is organising a Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile event on 25 March 2012.
The event starts at 10am and is expected to finish at 1pm. It costs £6 for an adult to enter, £3 for a child and £15 for a family of four.
Runners have the option of competing in a one, three or six mile race and can even dress up as super hero in the themed fancy dress race.
People are welcome to raise their own sponsorship for the event or can set up a Sport Relief Giving Page if they wish to raise money for Sport Relief.
