Tribute act proves popular
A Tom Jones tribute act, Tony Gold, sang for visitors to Mansfield Market yesterday in celebration of St David's Day.
He is pictured with Town Centre Manager Nick Turner and Councillor Kate Allsop Portfolio Holder for Economic Regeneration at Mansfield District Council.
Tony Gold performed a selection of well known hits by the Welsh superstar from 12.30pm to 1.30pm and local food vendors served traditional St David's Day food including leek soup and Welsh rarebit. Local businesses also joined the celebrations by offering Welsh food.
The event was part of a series of promotions planned in Mansfield town centre throughout the year to mark various worldwide events.
