Deaths and Funerals over the Seasonal Period

During the Christmas period the cemeteries and crematorium will be closed for funeral services, however listed below are the times the buildings and/or grounds will be open for visiting:-

CEMETERIES

In order to allow families to visit graves over the Christmas period the cemeteries will be open as follows:-

December 24th        8.30 am -

December 25th        the gates will be left open

December 26th                    - 4pm

December 31st        8.30am -

January 1st 2009    the gates will be left open

January 2nd 2009                - 4pm

FLORAL TRIBUTES

It should be noted that all Christmas Floral Tributes will be removed from graves in March to allow for the commencement of the mowing season.

MANSFIELD AND DISTRICT CREMATORIUM

The Crematorium grounds will be open as follows:-

FLORAL TRIBUTES

Please note that due to the extraordinary amount of floral tributes that are received at the crematorium at this time of year we have to move flowers around the building into areas that may not be accessible during the normal working day due to funeral services taking place in the chapels.  We apologise for this but hope you will understand our reasons.

Floral tributes left out in the Gardens of Remembrance:-

Christmas Wreaths will be displayed outside in the Gardens of Remembrance and will only be moved if they are on one of the strewing areas, in which case they will be moved to the edge or if the wind moves them, in which case we will make every attempt to try and locate them back to their original spot.  The grounds will be cleared on 31st January 2009.

Flowers left out in the grounds will be left until they have died and then they will be removed.  Any floral tributes still in the grounds will be removed on 31st January 2009.
