Development Control and Planning Enforcement

Development Control section processes planning applications, applications for listed buildings, conservation areas, protected trees, advertisements (excluding Waste and Minerals applications) and provides advice and guidance to future developers within the Mansfield District. This Section also deals with enforcement issues where there has been a breach of planning legislation.

Local Code of Conduct for Councillors and Officers Dealing with Planning Matters

In determining planning applications it is important that the process is undertaken in an open and transparent manner.  Accordingly, the Council has adopted a Code of Conduct that applies to both officer's and councillors who deal with planning matters. This document explains how the decision making processes work in relation to planning applications and also to the Local Development Framework and provides guidance to officers and councillors to ensure that all planning related business is conducted fairly, equitably and impartially.
