Lindhurst: consultation on major application

Residents and businesses are being invited to have their say on one of the largest planning applications ever received by Mansfield District Council.

The Lindhurst Group have applied for outline planning permission for the development of nearly 170 hectares of land off the A617 Mansfield / Ashfield Regeneration Route.

The application is for employment, commercial, residential, retail, healthcare, community, educational and leisure uses, including a new primary school, cemetery, local centre and community park.

The application also includes landscaping, habitat creation and infrastructure including roads, drainage and services.

The consultation period is now underway. Comments about the application can be made via the link marked 'Lindhurst Application' on this page (top right) , by email to pbc@mansfield.gov.uk or in writing to Martyn Saxton, Head of Planning, Community Safety & Regulatory Services, Mansfield District Council, Civic Centre, Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield NG19 7BH.

As with all major planning applications a wide range of local and national organisations will be asked for their views as part of the consultation, including:

Mansfield District Council has also written to nearly 2,000 homes and businesses near the proposed development to seek their views.

Martyn Saxton, Head of Planning, Community Safety & Regulatory Services at Mansfield District Council said: "This is one of the largest and most complex planning applications that Mansfield District Council has ever received.

"I would urge everyone with an interest in the application - whether that be to support it, object to it or just make a general observation – to submit their views as soon as possible. The Planning Committee would welcome as many comments as possible."
