Health and social care

Activities for older people
By 2021 almost 20% of the population will be older people (50+). This will rise to a quarter of the population by the year 2040. We are keen to work closely with older people and anyone who tackles older peoples issues or any local activists.
Domestic Violence
We understand that everyone has the right to a life free from abuse in any form. Domestic violence is wholly unacceptable and inexcusable behaviour. We are committed to reducing domestic violence.
Health and safety - syringe disposal
"Sharps" is the collective name for needles, syringes and other objects which can cause potential harm to the public through contamination.
Safeguarding Policy
Mansfield District Council has now updated it's Safeguarding policy to include vulnerable adults.
Slips, trips and falls Slips, trips and falls in your home
NHS Nottinghamshire is encouraging older people to find out more about falls prevention.
Smoking and pregnancy
The single most important thing you can do for yourself and your family is to give up smoking
Smokefree Sign Smokefree
Smokers who are not ready to quit can sign up to Nottinghamshire's Smokefree Environments initiative, 'Go Smokefree,' which will help protect people from harms of tobacco smoke, reduce domestic fires and help future generations to grow up without seeing smoking as the norm.
Nicotine Replacement Therapy
There are several ways to get free, friendly and flexible support to stop smoking in Nottinghamshire.
