Trees at Hermitage Local Nature Reserve
Animal Welfare
We work with the Licensing Section to issue licenses and inspect certain businesses and activities which involve animals in order to protect health and welfare of animals and make sure that welfare regulations are complied with.
Local Land Charges
All local authorities maintain a Local Land Charges Register which contains details of legal restrictions attached to property or land which are binding on the new owner or occupier. Examples of the details recorded are planning restrictions, Tree Preservation Orders, Enforcement Notices and Highway Agreements.
Pollution Issues
We deal with a wide range of pollution issues and can investigate complaints of pollution issues such as noise, smoke, bonfires, dust, odours and fumes.
Health and Safety
We enforce health and safety law in offices, shops, warehouses, places used for leisure activities and other non-industrial premises. (The Health and Safety Executive deal with factories and other industrial operations). This ensures that safe and healthy working conditions are provided for all employees, the self-employed and members of the public visiting these premises.
Environmental health
Environmental health deals with monitoring and controlling different activities like food hygiene, health and safety and environmental protection issues including noise land and air pollution.
GRIME Project Street Care
Over recent years, we have been striving to create a clean and pleasant environment for you. We are responsible for keeping the land and highways within the district free from litter and refuse as far as is practicable in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Code of Practice for Litter & Refuse.
Waste and Recycling
Mansfield District Council is striving to provide a high quality, effective refuse and recycling service which will enable householders to recycle and reduce their waste as much as possible.
Climate Change
Climate Change is something that affects us all. As the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere rises, so does our average temperature. Warmer, wetter winters and hotter, drier summers have been predicted for the future along with an increase in the severity of extreme weather events. Mansfield District Council is aiming to reduce its own effect on Climate Change through positive action and help you to reduce your impact too.
