Following an extensive £5m refurbishment and named in honour of our very own double gold medal winning Olympic athlete Rebecca Adlington. The centre opened in January 2010, A community-based centre, it offers a wide range of activities for all ages and abilities.

Following the £5 million pound redevelopment of the centre, the centre now boasts the following ultimate leisure facilities:
- 44 station state-of-the-art-fitness suite (see the virtual tour below) IF I accredited fitness equipment available
- 25m six lane extended swimming pool
- 20m teaching pool
- Endless technique pool
- Sherwood studio featuring interactive dance mats and activity wall( see the below video's for more information)
- Poolside changing for disabled swimmers

Fitness suite and activity studio virtual tour
Take a look around Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre. Take a virtual walk through the fitness suite which is infused with natural daylight, and mood enhancing features. The fitness suite will be equipped with the very latest Pulse fitness equipment (including Inclusive Fitness Initiative accredited equipment to help make sure disabled people can benefit from all our facilities) with interactive entertainment features to spur you on to exercise. Naturally our trained fitness instructors will also offer individual assessments and ongoing support.

The activity studio will include an interactive dance mats system, an activity wall, and room for fitness classes, there will be something for everyone. Informational videos on the dance mats and the interactive wall can be viewed by pressing play on the video's below.
Swimming Lessons
Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre offers a substantial swimming lesson programme. Please contact the leisure centre directly about our swimming lesson programme or email cfaulconbridge@mansfield.gov.uk
Disabled Swimming Session
The refurbished swimming centre has now got an adapted changing room on poolside for disabled people with a changing bed inside to help people with more severe disabilities. This is to coincide with our other adapted changing rooms located throughout the building for other activities. We also hold a specific public disabled session in the learner pool which has a ramped entrance to may it fully accessible, the sessions are held on a Monday between 12.00 and 13.30.
We also have a disabled swimming club using the pool on a Monday evening 18.30 - 20.00. Sherwood Seals is an inclusive swimming club for people with disabilities of any age. (There will be a summer break from 26 July until 6 Sept).
