Planning Application Forms
Planning application forms are available in paper form however, you can download these forms using the links in the table below, or from the Planning Portal's Form Chooser page.
The submission of electronic planning applications is hosted by the Planning Portal and Mansfield District Council actively encourages the use of this method. You will only need to complete one set of forms and if you also submit your plans and other documents as attachments you will not have any printing or postage costs associated with a paper based application. Planning applications are public documents and anyone who wants to see your application can do so. Your application form, drawings and attachments will be scanned and made available on the Internet, however in compliance with the Data Protection Act your telephone number(s), email address(es) and signature(s) will be removed from the form which is published on the internet, they will remain on the Planning Register.

Preliminary Enquiry Forms
These are enquiry forms which enable you to submit some basic details of your proposals to us. We can then use this information to determine whether or not we will require you to apply for planning Planning Permission and/or Building Regulation Approval, or that the work you wish to carry out is exempt.

From 1st April 2012 the Council will be charging for providing written confirmation on the need for Planning Permission for domestic and commercial proposals. Any request made on or after this date must be made on the appropriate form and the required fee submitted. The Council is keen to ensure that the planning application you submit is valid on submission and that we can process it promptly for you without the need to contact you for further details or information. We need to make sure that the forms are filled in correctly and that all the necessary supporting documentation that we require has been included. To this end we have adopted a Scheme of Validation for Planning Applications, which contains lists of all the information that must be submitted with each application type.

Serving Notice
If you are submitting a planning application on land that you do not own, you will need to let the land owners know by serving a Notice under Article 6, versions for Householder and Non-Householder applications are available to download using the link under the Related media header.
