Allocations: Homefinder Choice Based Lettings

Applications to rent our properties are managed by Homefinder, a partnership between Mansfield District Council, Ashfield District Council and housing associations in the Mansfield and Ashfield areas.

Mansfield's Homefinder team is based at the Civic Centre in Mansfield where our specially trained Lettings Officers will be able to help with all your housing queries about registering with us and bidding for suitable properties. 

To register with Homefinder so you may place bids for properties, please visit to Homefinder's website: www.amhomefinder.co.uk

When your application is complete, we will write to you to confirm your application details and provide more details of how to bid for properties.  If you are homeless, threatened with homelessness within 28 days, please call Housing Solutions on 01623 463121 for advice and assistance.   If you need any help with registering your new Homefinder application, please contact the Lettings Team on 01623 463402.

Information for Homefinder applicants

All available properties are advertised in the Civic Centre each week. Anyone interested in any of these homes has to contact us to register before being able to apply (bid) for the property. This choice-based lettings system therefore relies on the customer taking control of their rehousing.

Homefinder lets properties in the Mansfield area on behalf of the following housing associations:

Neighbourhood Profiles

Follow the "Related Pages" link to view Neighbourhood Profiles for all 19 of Mansfield's Wards.  Information includes details on Housing, Education, Crime, Deprivation / Health, Population and the Economy.  ("The Condition of Properties..")

Properties for Older People or Vulnerable Applicants

Mansfield District Council also offers the ASSIST Support Service for older people or vulnerable applicants (follow the link to "ASSIST Service" for more details).  These services are mainly available with ground floor flats, bungalows and flats within our Sheltered Housing complexes.

Before a formal offer of accommodation is made to a property which incorporates these specialist services, you will be required to undertake a Needs Assessment so that we can make sure that the level of service we offer is appropriate for you and / or your household. For applicants under the age of 60 years, a Needs Assessment is required before you can place a bid for properties which include these services. Mutual Exchanges

Mansfield District Council has joined with "HOMESWAPPER" so that MDC tenants may advertise their properties for free on the HomeSwapper website - www.homeswapper.co.uk.  Please visit "HomerSwapper" to view all local and national exchanges advertised through HomeSwapper.

If you find a suitable property, and the tenant wishes to exchange into your home, please contact your Housing Officer who will need to visit you at home to carry out a property inspection.
