Properties for Older People or Vulnerable Applicants
Mansfield District Council also offers a Long Term Support Service for older people or vulnerable applicants (follow the link to "Long Term Support Service" for more details). These services are mainly available with ground floor flats, bungalows and flats within the Sheltered Housing complexes.
Before a formal offer of accommodation is made to a property which incorporates these specialist services, you will be required to undertake a Needs Assessment so that we can make sure that the level of service we offer is appropriate for you and / or your household. For applicants under the age of 60 years, a Needs Assessment is required before you can place a bid for properties which include these services. If you require any more details, or wish to make an appointment for a Needs Assessment, please contact the Needs Assessment Officer on 01623 463076.
Mansfield District Council has joined with "HOMESWAPPER" so that MDC tenants may advertise their properties for free on the HomeSwapper website - www.homeswapper.co.uk. Please visit "HomerSwapper" to view all local and national exchanges advertised through HomeSwapper.
If you are a social housing tenant from another landlord, and you wish to apply for a mutual exchange, please check the attached file which has a list of tenants from other social landlords currently requesting a mutual exchange as well as checking the HomeSwapper website. If you find a suitable property, and the tenant wishes to exchange into your home, please contact your Local Housing Office so that a Housing Officer can come out and inspect your home.
If you wish for your details to be advertised, please download an application form and return it to the Homefinder team at the Civic Centre. For more details, telephone 01623 463402.

Members of Mansfield District Council's Housing Services Panel have recently carried out a "mystery shopper" review of both the Mansfield Homefinder team, as well as the Homefinder service provided by Ashfield Homes Limited (Ashfield District Council's ALMO). Both services were rated as "Excellant" but the Mansfield service has been highlighted for several areas of improvement.
