Regeneration

Regeneration combines action to address economic, social; and physical problems to provide for the future growth and prosperity of the District. It seeks to fulfil the ambitions and aspirations of the people of Mansfield by fully involving them in decisions about the development of the District. Regeneration aims to create the conditions for further economic growth whilst maintaining and developing truly sustainable, safe and integrated communities. It will lead to lasting improvements in the economic, social, physical, environmental, community and cultural life of the District of Mansfield.

Mansfield's regeneration will be delivered in 3 ways:

  1. An outward looking focus: placing Mansfield, in particular its future economic prosperity, in the context of a rapidly changing environment, taking advantage of the opportunities and the challenges for the district;
  2. A strategy for the whole district: recognising the diversity of the District and the need for different solutions for different communities and,
  3. A partnership based approach: recognising that the council cannot achieve regeneration aims on its own. The council wants and needs to strengthen its partnerships with the public, private and voluntary sectors. Successful regeneration work shows that regeneration is most effective when it is delivered in partnership with those groups or organisations best placed to influence the success of regeneration projects.

The Regeneration Group is organised into 2 main areas of activity:

Physical

Economic
