SUMMARY OF REASONS FOR DECISION
In the opinion of the Local Planning Authority, the proposal is in accordance with Saved Policies U8, BE6 and M16 [28/09/2007] of the Adopted Mansfield District Local Plan 1998, meeting the relevant objectives and criteria, and the objectives of the National Planning Policy Framework 2012.
Summary of Policies
Mansfield District Local Plan Saved Policy U8 [28/09/2007] – Advises planning permission will be granted for telecommunications installations provided certain criteria are met.
Mansfield District Local Plan Saved Policy BE6 [28/09/2007] – Advises planning permission will be granted for developments within conservation areas only where they would not adversely affect its special character, listing five criteria which must be met.
Mansfield District Local Plan Saved Policy M16 [28/09/2007] – Advises planning permission will be granted for new developments provided proposals meet 6 sets of criteria in respect of transport / movement issues.
National Planning Policy Framework 2012 - sets out the Government’s planning policies for England and how these are expected to be applied. Para 43 states that local planning authorities should support the expansion of electronic communications networks, including telecommunications and high speed broadband.
