SUMMARY OF REASONS FOR DECISION
The proposal would be contrary to Saved Policy R6 28/09/2007] of the Adopted Mansfield District Local Plan 1998. However, in the opinion of the Local Planning Authority, there are other material considerations which would outweigh any policy objection. The site has been used as restricted retail premises for a period of over 20 years, and in the opinion of the Local Planning Authority the use proposed would not be materially different from this previous use. The proposal, as restricted by conditions, is in accordance with Saved Policies BE1 and M16 [28/09/2007] of the Adopted Mansfield District Local Plan 1998, meeting the relevant objectives and criteria. The development will not be detrimental to the visual character and appearance of the locality, residential amenity, or highway safety, and there are no other material considerations that indicate that a decision should be taken at variance with the above policy or guidance.
