All about the role that woodlands play in our lives. Although there will be an informative aspect to the displays, we also intend to focus on the more playful side of forest life - the fairy tale dimension, if you like. To capture the feel of an imaginary wood, you can expect bark-covered walkways, artificial evergreens, lighting and sound effects and a host of other family-friendly features in what promises to be one of our most original and intriguing exhibitions ever.

Mansfield Museum will host an exhibition about Clipstone Camp, one of the largest WW1 training camps in the country.  Approximately 30,000 soldiers were billeted there. WAACs were at the camp in 1917 and at the end of the war it was where many soldiers were demobbed.
This all had a great effect on the whole Mansfield area and additional features of the display will look at local industries, schools, churches and the community during those years. Young people will be encouraged to take part in activities during the course of the exhibition.
