The town centre is set to be a hive of activity on Saturday 29 April as Mansfield District Council prepares to host a carnival themed Market Celebration.
From 11am to 3pm families can expect to be immersed in a carnival atmosphere with fairground organ, circus skills workshop, walkabout clowns, traditional hook a duck stall, and children's craft activity.
The Punch and Judy Show also comes to town so visitors can take a break from shopping on the market to sit back and enjoy the traditional comedy act.
There will also be free face painting as well as giveaways and a competition for the chance to win a £20 voucher to spend on the market. Simply look out for the circus tent pictures hidden on stalls around Market Place and work out the hidden word.
Saturdays are full market days in Mansfield with all sorts of great value products available including;
· fresh fruit and veg
· bags for holidays
· plants, bulbs and shrubs for the garden
· food, toys and accessories for the family pet
· and much more.
Mansfield Market has seen a £100,000 investment in the last year with new stalls and canopies, food court, signage and full event programme. There are new products now available too such as Caribbean dumplings from the Dumpling Shack and make up from Lollipop Lips.
Director of Economic Growth, Mike Robinson, said: "It's a year since Mansfield Market was transformed so we wanted to celebrate a year on with this special event.
"The Market Celebration event is a great family day out and free for all to enjoy whilst you're shopping in town, so be sure to support your local market and join us for all of this entertainment."
