Council Tax bands and valuation
Most domestic property, either owned or rented, has a Council Tax band. Your home has been allocated one of eight bands according to its market value at 1 April 1991.
How your bill is calculated
Council Tax is a charge on all households and pays for local services.
Each council sets its own rate of Council Tax, subject to government limits, for each valuation band.
In Mansfield there are four elements that make up the Council Tax bill. These are:
- Mansfield District Council
- Nottinghamshire County Council - this includes Adult Social Care
- Nottinghamshire Police Authority
- Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service
Warsop Parish Council usually makes a charge for residents living in the Warsop area.
Council Tax is made up by:
- Property element - 50%
- Personal element - 50%
Discounts are given to households where there is only one adult living in the property, or if the property is empty.

Properties are allocated within one of eight bands, which are:
- Band A - Up to £40,000
- Band B - £40,001 to £52,000
- Band C - £52,001 to £68,000
- Band D - £68,001 to £88,000
- Band E - £88,001 to £120,000
- Band F - £120,001 to £160,000
- Band G - £160,001 to £320,000
- Band H - £320,000
