Disabled parking and blue badge

Blue badge scheme

Disabled parking

People with mobility problems may be entitled to parking permits, which allow access to designated spaces within Mansfield town centre.

Blue badge scheme

The blue badge scheme provides a range of parking concessions for people with severe mobility problems.

To apply for or blue badge and for more details about the scheme, visit Nottinghamshire County Council's website.

Disabled parking

People with a blue badge are allowed to park in a disabled parking bay, providing their parking badge is displayed correctly with the expiry date showing.

If the disabled bays are taken, you can park your vehicle in the other bays. Disabled parking is free in all parking bays in council run car parks (except Walkden Street, Clumber Street, Four Seasons multi-story, Service Area D, Old Town Hall and Victoria Street - where the standard fee is payable). Privately run car parks may charge.

Blue badge holders are expected to follow the terms and conditions of the individual car parks.

Blue badge holders may park for up to three hours on yellow lines using a valid badge and clock but must adhere to any other restrictions and the Highway Code.

For parking in pedestrian areas, a special access permit is available from Nottinghamshire County Council.
